Generation STEM Work Preparation Day

Location: Pilton Community College

Date: Tuesday 8th May

Times: 8.30am to 3pm

We are seeking a range of STEM Ambassadors to take part in a Generation STEM Work Preparation Day with Year 10 students (aged 14-15). You will take the role of a ‘Business Partner’, sharing your personal career journey in STEM and experience of navigating the job market as you guide a small group of students through various activities, including writing effective job applications and performing well at an interview. If you’re keen to give young people a concrete idea of what modern-day employers are looking for, then this is the opportunity for you!

If you would like further information on either event, or are able to help out, please contact Toni Oatway by email.

Or become a STEM Ambassador

In addition, if you are interested in becoming a STEM Ambassador, then they are ALWAYS looking for more ambassadors from all STEM areas so if you or anyone you know may be interested – as long as you have some connection to STEM then they would love to hear from you.  STEM Ambassadors are volunteers from a wide range of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related jobs and disciplines across the UK. They offer their time (at least 2 STEM events per year) and enthusiasm to help bring STEM subjects to life and demonstrate the value of them in life and careers.

If you would like to become a STEM Ambassador then please register here stating that you would like to become a STEM Ambassador.  Once registered, you'll receive an email inviting you to attend a STEM Ambassador induction near you, alongside details on how to start your online DBS check required for this role.
